Delighted to introduce to you Project Dragonfly.
With the advent of solid wing technology our studio set about to design a sail assist sub 500GT innovative Catamaran to showcase at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show.
True to her name, this striking design offers the incredible feature of being able to tilt her wings under passage to reduce her air draft to a little under 40’. Just imagine what navigation opportunities this could unlock for an Owner.
The Aero Wing Sail has been developed by Rondal and is crafted from lightweight materials, similar in fabrication to an aircraft wing. It is free-standing with the ability to rotate fully around its vertical axis. Multiple flaps adjust the camber to control the wing’s power. To depower, these flaps can twist along the span, even inverting at the top to create a righting moment. When at rest, the wings feathers freely, and for awful weather conditions they can tilt horizontally.
The General Arrangement has been developed in partnership with Michael Leach Design who brings with them considerable experience in the design of large Super Yacht Catamarans.
