Dulcinea custom yacht 1

Dulcinea

Commissioned by a European owner, Vaudrey Miller Yachts in Auckland were contracted to take on the project. Hull construction is e glass / epoxy over a cedar core with foam core / e glass deck and superstructure. The deck layout is simple and functional, allowing the owners to sail the boat on ocean passages short handed and in comfort.

The interior has been finished to the highest standard and includes American Cherry joinery, Corian work surfaces, a fully equipped, enclosed galley and accommodation including two double guest cabins with ensuite.

The boat was designed and built to RCD and certified by Germanisher Lloyd. The swept three spreader, cutter rig was supplied by Matrix Masts along with a carbon furling boom.

The owner commented "Living in Spain and building in New Zealand introduces logistical issues so I employed Project managers MD Marine before signing with Vaudrey Miller. Having an independent project manager is an absolute must if an absentee owner is to achieve a successful build on time and to price. It's not so much the yard doesn't look after their client's interest, more that the project manager is on hand to sort out issues before they compound into problems that slow construction and cause cost overruns. We are truly delighted with the outcome".

Dulcinea has cruised extensively in the Mediterranean and Caribbean and sailed from New Zealand to Barcelona as a shake down cruise.
