The ultimate cruising Moody? The 66 is a thoroughly modern design,
which was the last and largest of the modern Moody's before the
company was sold.
Capable of fast ocean passages in great comfort the 66 is equipped
to be easily handled by a small crew and has the necessary tankage
and stowage to stay at sea for extended periods.
The 66 is a direct development of the 64, and it was hull number
1 of that class which smoked a fleet of assorted other ocean cruisers
to win Class A of the 2002 Arc Rally. The Moody left behind a fleet
of other ocean voyagers, including some Swans and Oysters, and covered
the 2,680 mile transatlantic course from Gran Canaria to St Lucia
in just under 13½ days – that’s 200 miles per
day. |
